Thaw Filo Dough.

Fine chop in blender or processor

1 lb. walnuts, 4 cups
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinammon

Melt 2 sticks unsalted butter.

On half sheet pan, layer 5 filo sheets, each brushed with butter.
Sprinkle with nut mixture.

Continue alternating 5 sheets brushed with butter then nut mixture, ending with filo layers.

Score top filo with cuts you wish to make later, triangles or diamonds, but don't cut all the way through until they are cooked.

Bake at 375 for 45 min. for a very brown filo, or 300 for 1 hr. 25 min. for a lighter version.

Meanwhile, prepare syrup:

Heat until dissolve 1/4 cup sugar with 1/4 cup water or orange juice.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups honey and 1 T. orange liqueur.

Cut completely through when removed from oven and top with syrup. Cool, cut and paper.
