Bran Muffins

Place 1 cup of bran in a bowl with 1 cup boiling water and 1 1/2 cups raisins and set aside.

In a bowl, mix together:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 cup molasses
2 beaten eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 cups dry bran flakes

In another bowl, mix:

2 1/2 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine everything. Makes 24 muffins.
This batter keeps in the refrigerator for two weeks.
Bake muffins at 400 for 20 minutes.
