Pecan Shortbread Cookies

Beat together:

2 sticks softened butter
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cups sugar

Add:

1 large egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla

Add:

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. cinammon
3/4 tsp. crushed anise
pinch salt

Add 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Place on greased sheets and bake until edges are browned.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, then reduce oven to 300 for 12-15 minutes.
